Vishwakarma Research Promotion Scheme (VRPS) – For Members of faculty

The management of BRACT has allocated budget to fund research projects to be undertaken by the faculty pursuing research in various areas. The aim of the scheme is to strengthen the research activity especially among the young faculty members which shall act as a catalyst for them to apply to the various funding agencies for major grants. Research scheme launched in 2015-16 and is growing every year.

Research Grants: 

Maximum grant available for each eligible project under type A, B and C is Rs. Three lakhs per project.

  1. VRPS for Young Faculties 
  2. VRPS for Senior Faculty Members in VIIT
  3. VIIT In-house Projects (Lab Developments)

Salient Features:

  • Research proposals from young faculty and in collaboration with faculty from within and other departments (intra and inter-departmental) involving inter- disciplinary research areas are encouraged.
  • A publication in the form of a research paper in an international peer reviewedjournal is mandatory under category A and B whereas it is desirable under category C but not mandatory
  • Two students of UG and/or one student of PG are required to be associated with the project for in-house projects (category C)

Vishwakarma Student Research Promotion Scheme (VSRPS) – For students of UG and PG – Budding researchers

The management of BRACT has allocated budget to fund research/development projects to be undertaken by the students pursuing UG and PG course in VIIT. Align with the vision and mission of the institute, the aim of the scheme is to encourage students to participate in research activities to prepare them to respond to the current and future needs of the industry.

Grants Available: 

Grant available for each eligible project is up-to Rs. 10,000. Projects from all the departmentsare supported under this scheme.Research scheme launched in 2015-16 and is growing every year with increasing student participation.

Salient Feature:

  • Projects with innovative idea, interdisciplinary nature are encouraged for financial support.
  • Selection process is carried out at every department and institute level to pick the best projects and to nurture them.
